Why Only Few BOM Teachers Will Benefit from 10,000 Government Pay

Secondary school teachers employed by the Board of Management will be paid KSH 10,000 for six months by the Ministry of Education.

This was confirmed by Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Education Belio Kipsang, who said the payment which will cover between July to December will include teachers who were employed on 1st March 2020.

“The Ministry of Education will support teachers employed by the Board of Management(BOM) as at 1st Match 2020 for six months only from July to December 2020 by paying them 10,000 per month…..Only teachers with TSC numbers will benefit from this package.” Reads the statement from the Ministry of Education.

The statement also confirmed that the different has released KSh 5151 for each student for free secondary school education.

Also, 500 shillings per leaner has been released to enable schools to follow Covid19 guidelines as they prepare for reopening in January 2021.
