COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli has vowed to stand by ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi in his quest to inherit president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking in Emuhaya during the burial ceremony of the late Bishop Dr. Byrum Makokha of the Church of God(East Africa) at Kima in Vihiga County on Saturday Atwoli says Mudavadi is still the leader of the Luhya community.
“We made you our leader in 2016 and since then we haven’t chosen another one. What we had at my home in Kajiado was a strategy meeting for the Luhya community as we aspire to win the presidency.” Said Atwoli.
The COTU boss further urged Mudavadi yo find the best strategy to enable him to win the presidency in 2022.
“You are still our leader. The only thing that we want to do is just to sharpen some strategies going forward. We cannot give birth to you and kill you later.” Added Atwoli.
On his side, Mudavadi asked the Luhya leaders to support him saying he appreciates the effort put by Atwoli who delivered condolences from the KANU party leader Gideon Moi.
“I have no problem with anyone. Do not allow me to walk alone.” Said Mudavadi.
