Nairobi Governor Defends Controversial Drug for Cure of Covid19, Says it Healed Cousin

Controversial Nairobi County Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has come out to defend Hydroxychloroquin as cure for Covid19.

Sonko took to his social Twitter account to defend the anti-malarial drug saying it cured his cousin who had contracted Covid19. According to Sonko, his cousin who works at Kenya Ports Authority contracted Covid19 but later on cute after he was put under the medication of Hydroxychloroquine.

“This is the reason why no Kenyan should die of Covid-19. I have tried the preventive part of it which seems to be working for me. My own cousin who works for KPA was infected with Covid but got cured after she was put under the same medication.”

Sonko said this in support of Dr. Stella Emnanuem, an African American Doctor, who said she treats her Covid19 patients with hydroxychloroquine and they heal.

Dr. Emnanuel was said this during a press conference held by America Frontline Doctors on Monday in America.

According to Dr. Emmanuel, who says she used to treat malaria patients in West Africa with hydroxychloroquine, she had treated 350 Covid19 patients so far who have high blood pressure but none has complained about the medication.

“I’m here because I have personally treated over 350 patients with COVID. Patients that have diabetes, patients that have high blood pressure, patients that have asthma, old people … I think my oldest patient is 92 … 87-year-olds. And the result has been the same. I put them on hydroxychloroquine, I put them on zinc, I put them on Zithromax, and they’re all well” said Dr. Emnanuel during the press conference.

Hydroxychloroquine drug which is an anti-malaria drug has been debated whether it can treat covid19 or not. It is not yet approved.
